Privacy

This site is built to need as little of your data as possible.

What we collect

Guru does not have accounts, does not set tracking cookies of its own and does not store anything about you on our servers. Requests for the weather pass through our own edge endpoint, which sees an approximate location (rounded to about a kilometre) and no identifying information; that request is cached and not logged against you.

Your location

The "Near me" page asks your browser for your position only when you tap the button. The coordinates are used in your browser to pick the nearest city and to fetch a forecast for your area, then discarded. They are never sent to us with anything that identifies you, and they are not stored.

Weather data

Forecasts come from the MET Norway weather API. When your browser fetches a forecast directly from MET Norway (a fallback if our endpoint is unavailable), MET Norway receives your browser's request in the normal way; see their privacy notice.

Third parties

• Analytics: no analytics script is currently loaded.
• Advertising: no advertising is currently loaded.
• Booking links: following a "Tickets and tours" link takes you to a booking platform with its own privacy policy. See the affiliate disclosure.
• Ask Guru: a question you type is sent to our edge endpoint and read by an AI model (Jev, run on Cloudflare Workers AI, or Claude via Anthropic). It travels without anything that identifies you, and answers are cached for an hour by city, conditions and the words of the question. Please don't put personal details in a question.
