Chinatown
The second-biggest Chinatown in the UK, for dim sum, hotpot and late suppers.
Behind the arch on Faulkner Street are a couple of dozen restaurants and bakeries, from Cantonese roast-meat counters to Sichuan hotpot and bubble tea. It is central, indoors once you pick a place, and open late. Good for a group that cannot agree.
When it works
Mostly under cover, so light rain is fine. Best afternoon, evening, night.
Good for groups, a date and locals' favourite.
