Guru/Manchester/Science and Industry Museum

Science and Industry Museum

Working engines and the world’s first passenger railway station, free to enter.

The museum sits on the site of the 1830 Liverpool Road station and tells the story of the city that invented the modern factory. The Power Hall, with its working steam engines, is the highlight, and the Experiment gallery keeps children busy for an hour. Free, indoors and a short walk from Deansgate.

When it works

Indoors, so the weather does not matter. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for kids, a first visit and step-free visits.
