The only place in Britain to bathe in naturally hot spring water: a rooftop pool at 33 degrees with the city's spires around it, an indoor Minerva pool and a wellness suite of steam rooms and an ice chamber. Two-hour sessions are ticketed and sell out at weekends; a rainy or cold day makes the warm water better, not worse. Book ahead.

Mostly under cover, so light rain is fine. Best morning, afternoon, evening.
