Cabot Tower and Brandon Hill
A free tower on the oldest park in Bristol, with the harbour and the hills laid out below.
Brandon Hill is a steep little park between the centre and Clifton, and the tower at the top climbs a narrow spiral to a view over the whole city. It is free and takes half an hour. Go in the evening for the light on the harbour.
When it works
Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon, evening.
Good for a date, sunset, kids and going solo.
