SS Great Britain
Brunel’s iron steamship in the dock where she was built, with a dry dock you walk under.
The ship is restored to her 1840s glory above the waterline and preserved in a glass-sealed dry dock below, where you walk under the hull. The Being Brunel museum next door is included, and children can climb the rigging with a harness. Mostly under cover, so it works in most weather; allow three hours.
When it works
Mostly under cover, so light rain is fine. Best morning, afternoon. Ticket valid for a year.
Good for kids, a first visit, groups and step-free visits.
