Harbourside and the ferries

A loop of the floating harbour on foot or by little yellow ferry.

Bristol's harbour is a lake in the middle of the city, and the walk round it passes the SS Great Britain, the cranes, Arnolfini and a dozen places to stop. The Bristol Ferry boats run a hop-on service between stops for a few pounds, which children love. On a sunny evening the whole city is sitting on the harbour wall.

When it works

Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon, evening. Walk free; ferry a few pounds.

Good for kids, a date, a first visit, sunset and step-free visits.
