Guru/London/Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens

Three hundred acres of botanic garden with Victorian glasshouses and a treetop walkway.

Kew is a full day: the Palm House, the Temperate House, the Great Pagoda and the treetop walkway, with the Thames at the far end. The glasshouses mean a shower is not a disaster, but it is at its best on a bright day in spring or autumn. It is ticketed and worth every penny for anyone who likes plants at all.

When it works

Partly outdoors: better on a dry day, with shelter if it turns. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for kids, a date and step-free visits.
