Guru/London/Richmond Park

Richmond Park

The biggest royal park, with herds of wild deer and a protected view of St Paul’s.

Two and a half thousand acres of bracken and ancient oaks with six hundred deer wandering through it. King Henry's Mound has a telescope aimed at St Paul's ten miles away. It is a proper walk rather than a stroll, so pick a dry day; autumn, when the stags rut, is the time to go.

When it works

Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for kids, dogs and locals' favourite.
