Natural History Museum

Dinosaurs, the blue whale and a cathedral of a building, free to enter.

The Hintze Hall with its whale skeleton is the postcard, the dinosaur gallery is what the children come for, and the Earth galleries are quieter if you want a breather. It gets very busy in school holidays and on wet weekends; arrive for opening or come after three. Free, with timed entry at peak times.

When it works

Indoors, so the weather does not matter. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for kids, a first visit and step-free visits.
