Micklegate
The Georgian street of pubs from the bar to the bridge, and the Micklegate Run that ends at the river.
Micklegate runs from the medieval gate where the king enters the city down to Ouse Bridge, and it is lined with pubs, from old inns to craft-beer bars, plus a few good restaurants. The Micklegate Run is the local pub crawl. Lively from Friday evening; quieter and prettier on a weekday afternoon.
When it works
Mostly under cover, so light rain is fine. Best afternoon, evening, night.
Good for groups and locals' favourite.
