River Ouse cruise
An hour on the river past the Guildhall, the Museum Gardens and the bishop’s palace, with commentary.
Boats leave from King's Staith and Lendal Bridge for an hour's cruise up and down the Ouse, with a covered lower deck for rain and an open top deck for sun. It is the easy way to see the city's riverside and a good rest for children's legs. Evening cruises run in summer; self-drive boats are hired next to the landing.
When it works
Mostly under cover, so light rain is fine. Best morning, afternoon, evening.
Good for kids, a first visit, a date and step-free visits.
