Winterbourne House and Garden

An Edwardian house and seven acres of Arts and Crafts garden on the university campus.

Winterbourne is a quiet one: a restored family home with its rooms set as they were in 1903, and a garden of walled beds, glasshouses and a lakeside walk. Ticketed but cheap, and next to the Barber Institute, so the two make a gentle half-day out of the centre.

When it works

Partly outdoors: better on a dry day, with shelter if it turns. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for a date and going solo.
