Cavern Club and Mathew Street
Live music every day in the brick cellar where the Beatles played, and the pubs of Mathew Street around it.
The Cavern was rebuilt with the original bricks a few yards from the first site, and there is live music in the cellar from lunchtime until late, free in the day and a small charge at night. Mathew Street outside is wall-to-wall pubs and Beatles statues. It is a tourist strip, and it is also a real night out; both things are true.

Indoors, so the weather does not matter. Best afternoon, evening, night. Free by day; small entry charge on evenings.
Good for a first visit, groups and a date.
