Guru/Liverpool/Bluecoat

Bluecoat

The oldest building in the city centre, now a free arts centre with a garden courtyard.

A Queen Anne school from 1717 turned into galleries, studios, a bookshop and a café, with a hidden garden at the back that is one of the calmest spots in the centre. The exhibitions are free and change often. A twenty-minute pause on a shopping or rainy afternoon.

When it works

Indoors, so the weather does not matter. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for going solo, a date and step-free visits.
