Guru/Liverpool/Bold Street and Ropewalks

Bold Street and Ropewalks

Independent cafés, vintage shops and restaurants from every country, with the bombed-out church at the top.

Bold Street is where the city's independent life happens: bakeries, record shops, Middle Eastern and Turkish restaurants, natural wine bars, and St Luke's, the bombed-out church, kept as a roofless memorial at the top of the hill. The Ropewalks streets behind have the bars. Good for lunch and better in the early evening.

When it works

Partly outdoors: better on a dry day, with shelter if it turns. Best morning, afternoon, evening.

Good for a date, going solo, groups and locals' favourite.
