Bath Skyline walk
A six-mile National Trust loop through woods and meadows above the city, with the whole of Bath below.
The Skyline circles the hills to the east and south of the city through woodland, wildflower meadows and Iron Age field systems, with viewpoints over the crescents and the abbey the whole way. Six miles for the full loop; shorter stretches from Bathwick Hill or the university are easy. Free, and best on a clear day with proper shoes.
When it works
Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon.
Good for dogs, locals' favourite and groups.
