Bristol and Bath Railway Path
Thirteen flat, traffic-free miles along an old railway line to Bristol, by bike or on foot.
The path runs from the western edge of Bath along the Avon valley to Bristol on the old Midland Railway, flat the whole way and away from cars. Hire a bike in the city and ride to the steam railway at Bitton for a pint, or the whole way to Bristol and come back by train. Free, and a good dry-day plan.
When it works
Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon. Free; bike hire if needed.
Good for kids, groups and dogs.
