Bath’s artisan quarter: reclamation yards, independent shops, good restaurants and the Bell pub.
Walcot Street is where the city keeps its independent side: architectural salvage, a wonderful hardware shop, delis, galleries, and a run of restaurants that locals prefer to the centre. The Bell Inn halfway up has free live music several nights a week. A ten-minute walk from the Abbey, and best from late afternoon.

Partly outdoors: better on a dry day, with shelter if it turns. Best afternoon, evening, night.
