Lickey Hills Country Park

Wooded hills on the southern edge of the city with a view from the Beacon across four counties.

Five hundred acres of woodland and heath, twenty minutes by train to Barnt Green or a bus to Rednal. Beacon Hill has a toposcope and the view; the woods below have marked trails and a visitor centre. Free, and a proper walk on a dry day.

When it works

Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for dogs, kids and locals' favourite.
