Guru/Bristol/Clifton Village

Clifton Village

Georgian terraces, arcades and independent shops on the hill above the gorge.

Clifton is Bristol's Bath: crescents, a Georgian arcade of small shops, delis and wine bars, and the suspension bridge at the end of the street. It is good for a browse in any weather and a natural pairing with the bridge and the Downs. The Lido, a restored Victorian pool with a restaurant, is the treat.

When it works

Partly outdoors: better on a dry day, with shelter if it turns. Best morning, afternoon, evening.

Good for a date, going solo and locals' favourite.
