Guru/Glasgow/Pollok Country Park

Pollok Country Park

Woodland, a river, a stately home and a fold of Highland cattle, ten minutes by train from the centre.

The biggest park in the city has Pollok House at its heart, the Burrell in its woods and Highland cows in the fields by the river. There are miles of paths, a walled garden and a good café at the house. Free, and the place to go when the sun comes out on the south side.

When it works

Outdoors: pick a dry day. Best morning, afternoon.

Good for kids, dogs and locals' favourite.
