Come hungry: raclette, oysters, doughnuts and the best cheese stalls in the city. Most of the market sits under Victorian iron roofs, so a shower does not stop it, and lunchtime on a weekday is far calmer than a Saturday. Opening days and hours change seasonally, so check before a Sunday or Monday visit.
