Theatre Royal
Home of Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet, with a striking modern foyer on an old auditorium.
The oldest theatre in the city has a Victorian horseshoe auditorium and a 2014 foyer wrapped around it like a gold drum. Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet are resident, and the rest of the year brings touring drama and musicals. Central, indoors and worth checking for cheap seats on the day.
